As in all Asia, life in Afghanistan happens in the streets. Large portions of the population survive from informal trade. In the picture you can see women buying and selling clothes. The ones selling have removed their burkas, what suggests that Islam ends where the bazaar begins, or at least becomes flexible in that point.
